Check it out! I’m on the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center’s blog this morning talking to Stuart Horodner about the mug I recently designed for the ACAC.
If you’ve ever wondered how I come up with the craziness in my sketchpads, click the link for a peek ay my process!
Today, former State Rep. Doug Dean (pictured above) and some “concerned citizens” convened on a mural organized by Living Walls and approved by both the City of Atlanta and the owner of the wall on which the mural was painted. The mob half-assedly painted over the mural without any permit, citing their status as neighborhood residents and, in Dean’s words, taxpayers as permit enough.
You can see the mural, painted by French street artist Roti, before it was defaced here:

And here’s the Creative Loafing article on the mural’s defacement:

And for the punchline the community organized itself this afternoon and proceeded to remove the grey paint with scrubbers, soap, and pressure washers (courtesy of the GADOT):

Yay Atlanta for functioning in spite of the efforts of people like Doug Dean!
One of several images I created which made the cut for the Atlanta edition of The Billboard Art Project.

Today at work I was asked to draw something on the chalkboard near the store entrance. I tried to tone it down and it wasn’t happening so I let it rip.
Getting ready for Artlantis tomorrow. Crisis mode, but I got this, but crisis mode. I’m actually having a beer with dinner tonight when I get done; this is a rare thing, thus my mention of it.
